Summary for Policymakers.

This summary outlines the main politically relevant outcomes of the Fourth Assessment Report of Working Group II of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

This assessment relates to the current scientific understanding of the impacts of climate change on natural systems, managed by humans and humans, as well as their adaptive capacity and vulnerability.

It builds on previous IPCC assessments and incorporates the new knowledge accumulated since the third
evaluation report. The statements in this summary are based on the chapters of the evaluation report and the main sources are listed at the end of each paragraph.
