Global warming: Villepin wants to move up a gear

The government intends to "move up a gear" in the fight against global warming, Dominique de Villepin said on Monday, opening the first "climate meeting".

The Prime Minister detailed a series of measures in the areas of transport and housing, to allow France to keep the commitments made under the Kyoto Protocol in terms of greenhouse gas emissions. These measures complement the climate plan adopted in 2004 by the French government.
