Using pure oil palm as a biofuel.

The use of palm oil in a diesel engine requires above all knowledge of its physical and chemical properties.

Comparing them with those of diesel and other vegetable oils, processed or not, we can get out of the important points to identify possible difficulties that meet a diesel engine running on palm oil. This results in an analysis of five major problems and their possible remedies: it is the viscosity, the flash point of the polymerization, chemical reactions and physico-chemical reactions.

Various solutions are discussed, both for Europe and for Africa in particular.
