Promotion of environmental technologies: Common success of umtec, SMEs and the SAEFL
A new environmental technology can drastically reduce the nitrogen oxide emissions of diesel engines: it is a denitrification system to be installed on heavy vehicles, which reduces the release of these precursor pollutants by more than 90% ozone. This innovation was developed by umtec, Institut für angewandte Umwelttechnik in Rapperswil (SG), in partnership with the industry and with the support of the FOEN. The director of the SAEFL, Philippe Roch, describes this innovation as the flagship of the promotion of environmental technologies and welcomes the success of the cooperation with Swiss SMEs.
