Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock ( "Super Size Me") has just optioned the bestseller "The Republican War on Science" in order to adapt the book to the big screen next year, reports Variety.
Chris Mooney's book explores the true motivations behind the attitude of the US government vis-à-vis scientific subjects such as research on stem cells, climate, the missile program and even sex education.
Mooney argues that the approach vis-à-vis the right scientific research shows an aversion to environmental, health but also on topics such as the theory of evolution and legal abortion.
Spurlock will produce the project through his production company Warrior Poets. The director recently produced "Class Act," a documentary on the elimination of arts programs in schools.
