At last the long awaited climate plan. Originally scheduled for last fall, it was presented on July 22 by Minister of Ecology and Sustainable Development. The text of the statement is available at:
What about the directions being taken in this act?
The first observation to make is that the resolute Mr Lepeltier is temperate. Indeed, the initiatives taken have largely been corrected and hampered by the Ministry of Economy and the industry.
Nevertheless, the goals attached to it are clear and precise.
However it is regrettable lack of resolution regarding:
- The pollution emitted by vehicles already in service, with a maintenance obligation and mandatory tracking-related sanction for technical contrôel;
- Road transport, it lacks a strong policy of reducing emissions from trucks, and a park rejuvenation policy controls / sanctions and taxation;
- renewal of the car fleet and transport of the state with so-called "clean" vehicles;
- Renewable energy, with a development of the feed-in of electricity generated by individuals.
On the other hand, it is important to congratulate the extension of "energy labels" on other non-appliance products. This will raise consumer awareness of energy and financial savings.
We bet that the resulting action will be effective, that it is not there an announcement effect for a green painting of the government.
