LPG hybrid electric car clean

"According to an Ifop poll carried out in September 2004, 46% [1] of the French say they suffer from car pollution and 76% say they are ready to use alternative fuels even if this entailed an additional cost of 5 to 10% compared to fuels classics. "

"Faced with a growing demand for 'clean cars', the CFBP continues its work to promote the GPL, but also its research and development initiatives to reveal the untapped potential of the GPL. Hybrid LPG / electric that we present today is a perfect example of ecological and economic benefits immediately available LPG "says Joel Pedessac, CEO of the CFBP.

Revolutionary, this prototype is the first sedan 4 places to associate a "green" fuel, LPG fuel, hybrid technology for cars
even cleaner. Developed by the RM LPG gas installation company, in collaboration with the CFBP and IFP, that this prototype unparalleled performance in environmental terms.

To demonstrate the benefits of LPG in the hybrid solution, a Toyota Prius II vehicle, internationally recognized for its performance in terms of CO2, was selected to develop this prototype vehicle named Hybrid LPG / Electric '. Elected car of the year 2005 58 by a jury of specialized journalists from 22 country, and placed top of the list of ADEME clean vehicles, the Toyota Prius II uses an average 4,5l / 100km and rejects 104 g CO2 at km. The twin engine allows driving on electric power in urban areas which produces almost no pollution. The gasoline engine takes over beyond a speed 50km / h on highways, especially for long distances.

LPG Hybrid / Electric ': an even cleaner vehicle

With LPG and electric engines, the prototype has all the advantages of a hybrid vehicle, namely the use of the electric motor in urban areas, recharging batteries during braking and deceleration. The petrol engine is replaced by an LPG engine, thereby allowing the vehicle to benefit from the environmental and economic performance LPG. The results of tests conducted by IFP show that the prototype
Hybride GPL / Electric is even more efficient than a gasoline hybrid. Indeed, the use of LPG instead of gasoline helps to significantly reduce emissions of CO2
This vehicle is part of the best performing market. The hybrid LPG / Electric 'emits only 92 g / km CO2 or 11,5% less than the petrol version. But we should add that the prototype has already traveled 15 000 km and that performance could be even better if it were new.

LPG: an economic alternative fuel and available everywhere

In addition to its recognized qualities of respect for the environment, the GPL allows savings. Its price at the pump is 0.6 € / l, which is half less than gasoline and 37% cheaper than gas in 2004. Tax assistance relating to LPG vehicles, in force since 2001 allow motorists to benefit from a tax credit of € 1525 to purchase a new vehicle or during its transformation it has less 3 years , the total exemption or half the logbook for an LPG vehicle and a TIPP attached to a floor threshold 0.06 € / l. Note that to participate in the development of clean vehicle market, many regions have recently decided to increase the rate of exemption from vehicle registration fees of LPG vehicles.

The GPL is available on the entire territory through a network of nearly 2000 300 service stations with on motorways and expressways to 170 000 motorists, making it the only truly clean fuel available throughout France and in Europe.

About the French Committee of Butane and Propane

Law Association 1901, the French Butane and Propane Committee (CFBP) is the professional organization of the sector of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). The CFBP's mission is to represent the LPG sector with the various French political and economic actors: governments, standardization bodies, other
energy industries, national professional associations, European and
International. Together with its members, the CFBP aims to inform the public and the various services and related industries GPL on the uses and benefits of Gas
Liquefied petroleum gas, on security and on the activities of the profession. In partnership with national, European and international, the CFBP contributes to the development of rules and standards governing the operation and use of the GPL. The CFBP gives
cohesion to the whole sector in France liaising between the distribution companies and other industries, both technically and economically. See the GPL website: www.cfbp.fr

LPG hybrid ... yes ... but ...

In the meantime, while Renault is launching the large scale manufacture of its Logan in Russia that will add to 650 million conventional vehicles, so energy intensive in service around the world, current industrial investments did not go as far as possible since nothing obliges them! In doing so, they commit us in the long term with less bad solution! It is as if a doctor selling you the plague instead Cancer: What if we instead healed? Let us not be naive, doctors (or builders!) And labs (or oil!) Live the sick, not healthy! Sad! During this EVS21 salon, it is clear that officials of organizations 'green' various and varied to 'sell' egoistically no real coordination or synergy: Damage to all!

Then, after the death of the Audi TDI eco A2 to 82 g / CO2 / km already forgotten for far too intelligent to survive in this arrogant and unbelieving world when we begin? Too late ?

As ironically, W.Churchill would say today in this merciless economic war that threatens our very survival: "Never in the field of human conflicts so many have owed so little"
