The energy bill of France has "jumped" in 2004 24,1%. It now stands at 28,3 billion euros, after an increase of 5,4% in 2003 announced Tuesday, 26 April, the Minister Delegate for Industry, Patrick Devedjian, at a press conference. This energy bill represents 1,8% of gross domestic product (GDP), "which remains in sharp decline compared to the 5% known in the early 1980 years," however stressed the minister. An increase in the bill that "is mainly due to the international prices of fossil fuels, but also to a smaller part of the rise in volume imports".
