Emission CO2: European quotas are too generous

While in Bonn opens a UN conference on climate change, the EU has demonstrated its inability to fight effectively against global warming.

While international negotiations on the fight against global warming today resumed in Bonn, the European Union has demonstrated its inability to fulfill its obligations limiting releases of greenhouse gas. The report released Monday by the Brussels Commission shows that most EU countries showed industrial carbon emissions below the quota allocated to them. Not that manufacturers have become suddenly virtuous, but because these quotas, defined by states and approved by the EU, were too generous. It is in any case the analysis made in Brussels and among environmentalists.
