China will soon be the leading producer of wind energy. A new plant of wind energy has just been built Guangting, in Hebei province. Put into production in 2007, the plant, which can generate up to 400 MW capacity, will provide 8% of the electricity needs of the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan area and will double the current wind turbine for electricity production in China.

This year, the World Conference on wind energy (WWEC) and the Conference on wind energy in Asia have been combined into a single event hosted in Beijing the 31 3 October to November.
