ASPO, “Association for the Study of Peak Oil and Gas”, is an association of European scientists specializing in petroleum. Its goal is to study, predict and above all inform those in power about the historic peak in hydrocarbon production. According to the theories very firmly argued by ASPO, and in particular by Colin Campbell, this peak of production is imminent and will give way to depletion: the irremediable fall in oil production.

The French representation of ASPO has therefore finally seen the light of day, after its sisters in most of our European neighbors. Let us wish them to succeed in the mission which they give themselves and that they will know how to sensitize the French leaders to the serious question of the oil depletion.
