India: aerial metro project

The city of Pune has taken a further step towards the endowment of an aerial metro after the successful completion of an aerial metro test by Konkan Railway Corporation. A few days earlier, the leaders of this company had announced the success of the tests in Goa despite the accident which occurred in September which killed one person.
The aerial metro is suspended by a rail above the cars and should constitute an alternative to motorway and rail links. During the test, he traveled 40 km for an hour. It should run at a speed of 120 km / h on a further test. KRC has proposed to use this metro on a 25 km circuit; the cost of erecting one km of line would be estimated at 500 million rupees or about 9 million euros. In Goa, a concrete structure supports the cars which move with the help of an engine supplied by the Austrian company ELIN EGB. The bogies are attached from the top leaving the car suspended in the air.
