Hello everyone
following a rainwater recovery facility , various suction tube rupture problem (leak, split tube, etc.) I was brought to control the temperature of the pump.
I found on the market an adjustable temperature controller relay with pt100 probe or thermocouple which is positioned on the pump.
to whom would have happened a similar mishap I could communicate more details

I believe that we must first find the cause of these different
conduits problem, before trying to control the
temperature of the pump. Indeed even a thermal safety
will not save the pump, only the motor will be saved.

well, me neither .....
however, if there is a problem with leaks and rupture on the suction pipe, I would already ask you what type of pipe it is ...
avoid inexpensive transparent corrugated pipes, which are more fragile and crack easily enough ... (and difficult to control in the buried tank)
prefer to pay more for a good reinforced flexible hose, which will last a bundle of years and without such annoyances !!
price example:
for one hundred € = reinforced flexible hose 3 m with float strainer fitted with non-return valve and fittings (in Belgium)
for a large hundred € = reinforced flexible hose 2 m with float strainer fitted with non-return valve and fittings (in France)
count 1 X 1/2 the height of the tank for the length of the pipe ...
NB: many people also denounce the additional cost of submerged pumps compared to (equivalent) surface pumps ..., but generally "forget" to also take into consideration that this "Suction kit" is not necessary with a Immersed pumpe .......

to answer the first question, classic ringed tube (according to the local hardware store no problem) but I was so eager to start my new installation that I can't wait for September (2008) to reopen from a professional distributor.
for the second, if there is an air intake between the strainer valve and the pump, this will pump without reaching its set pressure, hence the overheating of the pump body and not the motor, therefore the ineffective motor thermal protection, as well as water shortage protection because there is always water, I control the temperature of the pump body (set temperature 25 °)

Next to that, just replace the unsuitable hose
by a Socarex preferably Reinforced. In general I use
1 "reinforces. Pay more attention to the tightness of the connections.
seems like a good idea to save in the short term.
Socarex can be found in all good hardware stores
