here is another type of manual pump that we still find here and the

Hi Oli!

It is the famous aluminum alloy which I succeeded in welding with Tig with so much difficulty!

Thank you for putting a name on this metal which melts at 400 C! :D

oli 80 wrote:good evening, it amazes me that there is still a leather seal on this type of pump, if you buy a pump of this type nowadays, the seal is rubber, if it is possible to find seals for these pumps you can replace it, otherwise you can make a seal by cutting an old air chamber, it may be the case,

This is precisely the question I ask myself for my pump (relatively recent <10 years). There is no more seal at the level of the piston, and therefore it does not rise any more water. The problem is, I couldn't find any trace of the gasket other than a mark that looked like leather material.

I tried to put in rubber seal: it does not slip on the interior wall of the pump (in cast iron) and therefore tears off immediately.

I can't find a joint and I don't even know what shape and size it should have. In addition I have neither the brand nor the model of the pump (no inscription on the pump and I only have a receipt of the time ...).

So if someone could guide me, either to redo a joint, or to find a supplier of spare parts (this exists, a friend found some for his pump identical to mine, but his store does not have any more and n 'will have more ...).

I would still like not to have to change the whole pump : Cry:

Thank you in advance.

Patrice

Hello, I wanted to know how much this manual production could return and if level of efficiency it was the same as a purchase pump? Being under construction, small savings are always welcome ...
