Dry toilets and "TLB"
Hello,
I just registered on the forum. I briefly introduce myself, Dominique Godon, singer / author / linuxien of the French rock group Godon. I come directly to the topic of this thread. I have just uploaded a small file on my (successful) experience with the TLB, for a few years now. We are on average 6 people at home, and the cycle Toilets> compost square> compost heap is running smoothly. I made this file to try to show that with a minimum of rigor, it is a really reliable and lasting solution. Moreover, the TLB dismisses the argument of the "scientists", who say that this is a step backwards, and that one should not be against science. It turns out that throughout the TLB cycle, it is indeed a technology that it is, so to speak "natural". The difference is that it is enough to assist Nature, instead of intervening and trying to control it. From there, we witness the initiation of biological, chemical, thermal processes, etc., entropy is at work before our eyes!
There is therefore no turning back, but a radical change of attitude.

thank you for this forum!

Hello Little Pirrot
It is very instructive, especially when you have never thought about it.
Generalize the use of these toilets seems desirable but there are some difficulties:
Even for an 'Ecolo' population ready to change its "excrement" habits, it lives more in the city, does not necessarily have a garden and does not necessarily seek to produce humus.
The appropriate plant debris is not yet found in the local supermarket (There is no self-sufficiency, necessarily they do not have a garden to produce it)
If the need for plant debris increases it should not be tantamount to deforesting somebody further on the planet where we will not look ... at the ecological impacts.
The subject seems to me therefore more global and bold, it is necessary to organize the collection of excrement in the city and that of plant debris etc ...
Econologiquement yours.

Reason is the madness of the strongest. The reason for the less strong it is madness.

I heard that in Belgium HLM had been fully equipped by TLB. And a global study of the principle had been made. Result?
Alas the designers of the project was to ally with policies. (big mistake) When the elections changed the trend, the TLB were removed.
It would be interesting to find this study.

I think it is enough to better manage plant debris. I am thinking in particular of the maintenance of gardens, etc.
I agree. However, we must also think about the management of sludge from sewage treatment plants in the current system ...
The current system simplifies the problems for the individual.
But it complicates everything for the community.
With TBL it is a small constraint for the individual but a huge simplification for the community.
I think that for the majority of citizens this concept is very avant garde. But if the wastewater treatment lobby bangs hard on the wallet then maybe the interest will grow.
