Which band of p ...
Install solar 9 euros watt crete but you see the solar is not profitable my little lady. Go stop traffic on a ring road to change a panel a breeze ...

On the ground it costs between 1,5 and 2,5 wc, integrated batis solution already is between 2,2 and 3, euros the toilet.

What gang of crooks who want by all means their rotten nuclear.

A bit like the economical electric radiators given last year.

The solar road is clearly an ecological scam, I was already thinking about it here: solar-photovoltaic / solaroad-the-road-bike-solar-to-netherlands-t13915.html

Just to have the idea at the base (ie to put solar that need a maximum of light there is a regular and permanent shading!) You really have to have a grain!

Now if there Vinci and consors behind ... I understand that it may interest them but it's greenwashing!

shame that ridicule does not kill ... because this kind of wacky idea would get rid of a few harmful politicard

a pensioner is being scammed by a cheap photovoltaic dealer too expensive is already very sad ... but that the Minister of Ecology discredits itself by supporting this kind of nonsense is even worse

photovoltaics are precious things! you have to put them on the roofs, the best place to shelter from shock and where there is sun!

It's not scam: it's collusion :) Or rather COLASion !!

Meanwhile it is money that is wasted ... but that's not new!

Ségolène Royal starts the solar road on the hats of wheels

By Manuel Moragues Usine News the 21 March 2016

The Minister of the Environment Ségolène Royal lays the first solar tile 1000 kilometers she wants to see installed in five years. If the technology is attractive, its rapid deployment on a large scale seems absurd.

What an acceleration! Barely a few months after Colas' solar road was unveiled, the Minister of the Environment is laying on Monday March 21 "a slab of the first solar road site in France in Marseille", as a statement from the ministry explains. And to continue: "This step marks the launch of the program of 1 kilometers of the solar road in France" that Ségolène Royal had announced during the COP 000, in December, then confirmed in January 21. It is a first modest step , with 2016 square meters planned, but the ambition is strong.

The Minister has given herself five years to complete these 1000 km. And wants to start very quickly. The ministry's press release sets out the planned steps: mobilization of private actors with the "Route du futur" call for projects of the future investment program with submission of files in spring 2016; definition by spring 2016 by the State of the regulatory framework for the deployment of the solar road; generalization from 2016 of experiments; industrialization from 2017 and deployment.

Technological feat

No hesitation, no downtime, let's go! What to congratulate, according to the ministry: "France thus confirms its commitment in the fight against global warming thanks to deeply innovative solutions, unique in the world."

The technology, called Wattway, which the Bouygues subsidiary has developed is indeed a feat unparalleled: solar panels are encapsulated in a protective resin that can be glued on existing roads. Colas boasts a thickness of only 7 millimeters and a power generation capacity of 110 Watts per square meter, barely less than a standard photovoltaic module. Impressive performance for a panel capable of being rolled on by a 36 tons.

Less electricity produced

Only here it is: why would we want to align 1 000 km? And especially so fast? This technology has a more than limited feedback experience and suffers, at least in theory, serious handicaps: a horizontal panel produces 10% 15% less electricity than a panel inclined conventionally 35 ° . The resin necessarily absorbs light therefore limits the yield (2% lost according to Colas). The road is exposed to much more soiling that can reduce illumination. The service life will hardly match the 20 25 years of conventional panels. So the solar road should generate far less energy per square meter than a conventional panel.

six times the cost of a solar power plant on the ground!

However, it will cost much more. Colas has announced an investment cost of six euros per Watt installed. That's six times the cost of a ground-based solar power plant! Solar in France has finally become competitive - developers offered electricity prices down to 70 euros / MWh in the last call for tenders. The time for huge grants is over. Why relaunch a “high-cost” solar version? The government and Ségolène Royal in particular have revived solar energy in France. Support for new technologies is commendable. But 1000 km? This would represent several billion euros of investment! Acceleration borders on the road exit.

Royal Announces 5 Million Euros for Solar Roads

21 March 2016 The Figaro e tAFP

The Minister of the Environment Ségolène Royal announced today in Marseille that she would devote 5 million euros to projects of roads or solar parking, whose coating produces electricity.

"It's good for the road, it does not devour vacant space and at the same time it can be connected directly either to the (electric) network or to self-consumption", said the minister, by inaugurating a first prototype of "solar road" plaque, on the site of a motorway bypass in Marseille, the L2. "I will release the funding (...) as quickly as possible, so that we can now, in concrete terms, have a full-size laboratory," she added.

The first photovoltaic elements will be installed on parking lots or emergency lanes, until the models of "solar roads" can be approved for conventional traffic, she said., adding that the "solar road" should create jobs in France. Ms. Royal had set in January the goal of installing 1000 kilometers of "solar roads" in France in the next five years.

Concretely, it is solar tiles a few millimeters thick, glued to the ground and able to withstand traffic without altering and producing energy. The electricity produced can for example be used to light a tunnel.

Before the 1000 kilometers of "positive energy" road are built, the process must still be tested on small areas, from 20 to 50 m2, with reduced traffic, and on medium areas, from 100 to 150 m2, in circulating heavy goods vehicles, the ministry said. "Tests on larger surfaces in real road traffic conditions and use of the electricity produced will then be carried out", he added..

Thank you to confirm that it's bullshit ... with some additional technical elements ...

Segolène just made a flower in Colas ...

if photovoltaics on the road cost 6 times more expensive than simple photovoltaics it means that it costs more than building a roof over the road!

a photovoltaic roof above the road would produce much more energy than under the road and protect the road from the snow so avoid snow removal costs in winters

it would also protect from the sun in summer so reduce tar degradation and increase the duration of the road

the idea of putting photovoltaic under the road is really absurd ... the idea of putting photovoltaic roof is better but is only a demonstration by the absurd, because there is so much roof already existing easier to photovoltaic than to put on the roads

Personally I think that silly too.
It would be better to invest this money in solar PV installed on commercial surfaces on the roofs of ZACs, hypermarkets, etc .....

Strip of jealous, unable to just imagine the absolute greatness of the idea of Ségolène. : Evil:
I am going to reveal a scoop on the genesis of the idea: it is a long time after having visited the Great Wall of China, after careful reflection, that it had the inspiration of this great project which must compete with its illustrious previous . What bravery does it show, our so devoted minister of greening road!
