Three dead in bad weather in northern Italy
Three people died in large thunderstorms that broke out in northern Italy on Saturday. A fisherman was swept away by a wave. The other two victims died from mudslides that submerged their homes.
After experiencing a strong heat wave in previous weeks, northern Italy has been hit by severe thunderstorms since Friday. In the port town La Spezia, between Genoa and Pisa, a 49-year-old fisherman was swept away by a wave while on a pontoon. Mudslides in Veneto also claimed the lives of two people. (GFR)
