"I want to address the conscience of all those who have a responsibility in the conduct of world affairs," he continued. "It is a new state of mind that the world needs, it is a real New Deal on a planetary scale that is necessary, an ecological and economic New Deal."
It referred to the package of economic and social measures launched in the early 1930s by US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and remained under this name of "New Deal" to get the United States out of the crisis of 1929.
"On behalf of France, I call on all States to come together to found the new world order of the XNUMXst century on this strong idea that the common goods of humanity must be placed under the responsibility of all humanity" , continued the French head of state.
He launched a "solemn appeal" to the United Nations so that they "provide themselves with the means to ensure for all men access to vital resources, water, energy, food, drugs, to knowledge "and" take in hand the question of a fairer distribution of profits, the rent of raw materials "and" technological rents ".
He also hoped that the international community would go "further" in the fight against corruption, "of which the poorest are the main victims".
