Group purchases, is it econological or not?

by Christophe » 16/12/08, 10:59

With the "crisis", group purchases are more and more fashionable. Do you think a sub forum "group purchases" would be wise and would interest you?

Indeed, this is a somewhat paradoxical situation:

a) a group purchase is ultimately forcing consumption and buying things that we could not have bought at a high price -> over-consuming is not ecological = not ecological!

b) to buy together is to buy less expensive therefore it is to have worked and polluted less. It is also being able to afford eco-friendly equipment that is not necessarily affordable otherwise -> economical + ecological = environmentally friendly!

The subject has already been more or less discussed on forums. For example: the APPER association specializes in the group purchase of solar panels, pkoi not establishing a partnership with them?

There is a section in PA but apparently it does not interest many people forums... : Shock: :?

https://www.econologie.com/pa/annonces/a ... oupes.html

In short: organize group purchases (any area but preferably on eco-friendly products of course) would you be interested or not?

The principle would be as follows (roughly):

a) a self-proclaimed "organizer" member wants to buy something.
b) he inquires about prices and different potential suppliers.
c) create a topic and see how many other members it might interest
d) after receiving firm promises from a minimum of other members (limit to be defined, for example 10), he can start to negotiate the prices with the supplier (s) (appointment, email ...)
e) the "purchase contract" is defined
f) remains to buy and wait for delivery (by hand, via the organizer or directly from the seller for group purchases in major cities or by post / delivery person otherwise)

Sounds great to me
Why from time to time the shop would not do an action
For example the month of the low consumption lamp.
We all need it, it is not forced consumption and therefore remains environmentally correct.

Indeed, the shop could be one of the 1st supplier, I had not thought about it when launching this idea (sincerely), in fact I rather saw more "big material" ... style wood stove for example?

I know I don't think about my mouth enough ... : Cheesy:

For the bulbs, the problem will lie in the shipping costs: if you earn 10% on the purchase of 3 bulbs (which is already not heavy in absolute) and as the order will necessarily be shipped to one person (principle d 'a group purchase), you will have to send the bulbs to each member ...

In the end for small equipment it may be difficult ... but I want to try the experiment. At least we will have a certainty: the supplier is reliable! : Mrgreen:

Good idea but it will be necessary to create a charter for this sub forum.

A charter blah ca requires nothing but obviously should put rules in place ... the problem is especially to find RELIABLE organizer members ... especially the one who organizes the negotiation.

Same remark for the suppliers.

I suggest that we start with:
- Either wine (I already have contacts);
- Either champagne (I also have contacts);
- Either bold (I have no contacts but it must be able to be found);

: Shock: : Shock: What ?? Isn't that what you were thinking ?? : Shock: : Shock:

I would still moderate your enthusiasm (which is not my habit)

do not forget the shipping costs and consider that it would be odious to leave it to a poor victim to distribute it (including costs)
