Act against food waste in France

by Christophe » 10/12/15, 20:25

We have already talked at length about food waste here and there on these forums, well France has just voted a law "unanimously" ... must be said that there were not many in the hemicycle:

On video: http://www.lemonde.fr/planete/video/201 ... Econologie

(...)

In France, between 20 and 30 kg of food are thrown away each year per inhabitant, and 140 kg per person throughout the food chain. "Throwing a baguette is to let empty an entire bathtub, throwing a kilo of beef, it's 15 liters of wasted water," said Jean-Pierre Decool (Les Républicains), co-signer of the text, adding that food waste represents each year in France "000 meals per household, figures to make us dizzy".

What about the law? The article is very laconic ...

a law to prohibit waste ?? it makes me laugh

to reduce waste it takes work ... and alas work is heavily taxed by social charges ... so any boss who knows how to count requests that everything be done as quickly as possible ... waste costs less than less waste of time

you have to rush everything as quickly as possible to be profitable

to avoid food waste as much as energy waste, shift social charges to other taxes!

a law to prohibit food waste when it is the current law and regulations that cause it ??? start by removing the regulations and standards that cause waste!

Bin no ... it would be enough to authorize the recovery of "obsolete" by employees! Something completely prohibited by the FISC currently! And prohibit the destruction of expired stock "under cover of sanitary standards" (standards of my 2! Because given the safety margins of these: no food is dangerous in Europe after 1 day of expiration!)

(I think more and more that it is not the economy the enemy of the ecology but well the consumer taxation !!! Which imposes the over consumption to reduce its taxes ... but it is another debate !)

This would cost nothing in working time! And all the employees would be happy to collect some food for a few minutes of extra "free" work every day! Do not make fun of it!

Then you have to see the "substance" of this Law ... because there it is a bit of a debate in a vacuum!

Is it to make people forget that waste is the foundation of our economy?

There would therefore be juxtaposition of waste upstream and "saving scraps of bread" downstream ...

Undoubtedly like COP21, where timid measures are painfully being worked out, while the big negotiations, TAFTA style, will make it possible to overthrow the few fragile barriers which still slightly oppose the big mess. .

The recent and energetic measures taken recently against the waste of liberty send a clearer message! :frown:

weird ... you say bin no to say bin yes ...

you confirm some of what I said! tax regulations that prohibit recovery and force you to waste

there are regulations which oblige to waste on all floors ... and above all there is regulatory insecurity which puts pressure on all professionals ... whoever is out of the ordinary will be easily condemned so no one dares do nothing

I answered "no" especially to the extra cost of labor that you argued ... which for me is nonexistent ... or almost!

And then it depends on what is called waste. For uneaten food, if it is recycled for hens or compost. The life cycle is not interrupted as it went to landfill.

"Throwing a baguette is to let empty an entire bathtub, throwing a kilo of beef, it's 15 liters of wasted water", seen like that, it makes the consumer feel guilty, while the culprit is the food industry. Easy to reverse roles with little stupid sentences : Evil:

A good initiative against the food waste for the new year:

Restaurants now obliged to offer a doggy bag

On January 1, 2016, the anti-food waste plan and the law on bio-waste oblige restaurants serving around 180 meals per day to sort their waste and offer doggy bags to customers.

FYI, when I was in the USA in 2002, the practice was already common ... for the most polluting country in the world it is a good point!

Too bad that in France it is still limited to large restaurants! In terms of food, there are no big or small mess, there are just messes ...

Pfff it was an intoxication: http://www.lesechos.fr/industrie-servic ... 189322.php

Restaurants: the "doggy bag" not compulsory, selective sorting if

Sorting ... but lol ... 20 years behind what other countries ... and 100 years behind common sense! :|
