Earthhour WWF: Tonight, let's cut the light for 1 time!

by Christophe » 28/03/09, 13:35

After the 5 minutes for the planet of February 2007, see https://www.econologie.com/les-5-minutes ... -3334.html , tonight WWF has planned a world cut this time of 1 hour: between 20:30 p.m. and 21:30 p.m. (Paris / Brussels time)

On the other hand, the risks that had launched the controversy in 2007 remain relevant, small reminders: Summary: https://www.econologie.com/les-5-minutes ... -3334.html
and Debate: https://www.econologie.com/forums/le-1er-fev ... t2901.html

Regardless, I will participate and I will not switch off ONLY the light but the circuit breaker!

For those who want to do it: to avoid under or over tension, allow 10 minutes of margin before and after.

In other words: cut at 20:20 p.m. and turn on again at 21:40 p.m. (if it turns on :D)

ps: is it the old or the new time? : Mrgreen:

With all those who forgot to change the time, this will artificially spread out the time slot and may help limit problems if people apply en masse. : Mrgreen:

It is now or rather, not the news yet.

The time change will take place tomorrow, Sunday March 29 (at 2 a.m. it will be 3 a.m.)

Imagine this time change at 20:30 p.m. on March 28?
The cut would not be visible since it would be 21:30 pm ...

Either way, it's bogus!
Five minutes goes by, but who's going to cut the power for an hour, if he's watching a radio or TV show, or having a family meal?
It can only be marginal, or limited ...

Even less well respected, this action will still have more impact on the totality of consumption than a 5-minute strike, which is more respected.

Mwarf, I didn't have the courage to turn the PC back on after the little candlelight dinner ... : Cheesy:

Small annecdocte: we were (like "idiots") in the dark but the 2000W oven turned on until 21pm : Mrgreen:

Knowing that the sum of our lights throughout the house probably does not exceed 500W cumulatively ...

I noticed a 20% decrease in visits between 20 p.m. and 22 p.m. compared to a "normal" Saturday.

So we are roughly 1/5 of econo visitors to have "cut everything" ... I expected a little more ...

On the official site they haven't stopped the countdown which is in "positive" now ... : Cheesy:

Do not prevent this kind of operation always ask for contact details and an email ... I find it a shame ...

Pkoi does not simply count the goodwill that comes to their site ... simply via their IP?

1/5 of the population feeling concerned would have followed the movement, the others thinking that it is useless

which makes barely 1% of the population

Personally, I'm not, we save money over the year or not

Yes Maloche ... it is not heavy monitoring this action and yes it is better all year to be thrifty, econologist sorry ..

For the results of the action, see, as Woodcutter advises, the consumption statistics of EdF ...
