Personal carbon footprint

It's done in partnership with Jancovici and it's here: http://www.bilancarbonepersonnel.org/

Click on the different items of the menu ...

Roh the naughty not beautiful carbon ...

However, it remains quite "basic" ... not even talking about compact fluorescent bulbs for example ... nor very important: the country of residence (well, we suppose it's French-French ...)

My personal assessment:

Distribution of your programs

Emissions in kg equ. C Uncertainty in%
1 666,7 11 slot
350,8 Transport 10%
3 094,4 Power Supply 39%
629,9 consumption 47%

Total 4 741,8 34%

Frightening to see the weight of food and shopping towards the consumption of housing and transport (but hey, I will regularly work by bike).

On the other hand, for the housing, it is necessary to bring this back to the number of people inhabiting it (not asked for) either 1666,7 / 3 = 555,6 kg Eq C.
For transport, I do not take the car alone (84,8% of the carbon footprint of transport). So to bring back also to my family (I do not count when we are more than 3, it compensates the rare times when I put my car in break and where I am alone).
So 350,8 x (15,2 + 84,8 / 3) / 100 = 152,6 kg Eq C.

For consumption, it's the same, we share everything at home. The TV is watched by the 3, the computer too (if if my daughter started before the age of 2 years) etc etc ... So ditto, I divide by 3. That is 210 kg Eq C.

Total reviewed for my humble person:
555,6 + 152,6 + 3 094,4 + 210,0 = 4 012,6 kg Eq C

It's a little better than 4,74 T eq C. And again, I'm less energy-hungry than my dear half who needs more heat, lights up and forgets to turn off lights, consumes more water, etc., etc. .. But good 4 T Eq C including 77,1% for food, it may not be too bad.

And you ?
