Belgian friends, the mussels fries is in danger!

Some of our national dishes are in danger: the mussels and fries may well disappear as the tomato shrimp. Guilty party? Global warming!

Indeed, a quarter of C02 emissions are absorbed by the oceans and this influences the acidity of the waters. According to a UN study, the oceans will be the first victims of global warming.

It is because the large amounts of CO2 absorbed by the seas increase their acidification, that is to say the progressive decrease of the pH of the oceans, which makes the 30 waters more acidic than there is 150 years.

A chemical change that directly affects the production of crustaceans (mussels, shrimps, lobsters ...) simply because they fail to make their shells. They are therefore in the front line of the impacts of pollution. The acidification of the seas is also harmful for the coral reefs, cradle of many species of fish ...

"This is a significant red flag, indicating that these changes are having a clear impact on the health of the planet. It remains to be seen whether ocean acidification will become a major threat or a minor danger to the planet. 'marine environment and its food chain "explains Achim Steiner, director of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). (it)

never mind ! we will eat frogs, there are plenty of them.

finally without laughing, it is also possible that the molds become acclimated little by little, and that we will find them can be bigger! but by then the potatoes may have disappeared ...............
