You wanted expensive diesel: this is it

New price records for fuels in France

The prices of diesel, gasoline and fuel oil reached new records last week in France, in the wake of those of crude oil, according to figures from the French Union of the Petroleum Industry (Ufip) available Monday on his site.

The liter of diesel has reached the record of 1,3025 euros, according to a weekly statement posted online on the Ufip website. The last diesel record was reached on April 11 at 1,2871 euros per liter.

The liter of super unleaded 95 also broke a high at 1,3829 euros, against 1,3804 euros for its previous record a week earlier.

The liter of domestic fuel oil stood at 0,8569 euros, against a previous record at 0,8447 euros.

These prices are weekly averages, but they can be much higher and vary from day to day or from service station to service station.

Diesel reached 1,52 euros per liter on Monday at a Total service station, in the 1,59th arrondissement of Paris, and gasoline XNUMX euros in a Total station in the XNUMXth arrondissement of Paris, according to the website of the Ministry of the Economy which lists the prices charged at the pump.

Crude oil prices on international markets jumped on Monday mid-day to new historical records: they went up to $ 117,60 in New York and 114,86 dollars in London, before falling slightly on profit taking.

This increase in fuel prices is likely to inflate consumer prices in France, which already exploded in March (+ 3,2%). In the past month, prices for liquid fuels, including fuel oil, have already jumped 38%.

Soaring prices at the pump add to that of the energy bill. The government has proposed a 5,5% increase in gas prices in late April, which would increase by almost 10% in a few months after a previous increase of 4% in January

The State can lower the price of fuel when it wants, on the 1,5 Euros, there are more than 1 Euro in taxes. : Idea:

On the other hand, it is a way of repaying the debt by hiding behind the conjuncture which has a good back ... :frown:

It does exactly the opposite of what we wanted. Not only is diesel expensive (for real before it is time to get used to it) but above all an even larger part of the money will go "up in smoke" abroad.

The more expensive crude oil is, the more the state and therefore the French lose money. If people spend more on diesel they will spend less elsewhere. Apart from spending on diesel has no interest (in economic or employment terms) apart from Total & co.

.... and yet in "full please" is what Jancovici says: fuel from petroleum must be more and more expensive for renewable energies to be used.

But what is happening is different: they are exploiting more and more the unprofitable oil fields until then: in the USA they have just put back into service wells which are 100 years old and which had been closed because of too low a barrel price! ! (seen on FR2 news this evening), I will make a separate post on the subject.

@martien, "Full please" suggested taxing oil even more.
-> the country is not getting poorer
-> producers do not necessarily have an advantage in spending more to "scratch the pots"

And it was precisely to prepare for the consequences of a rarer and more expensive oil but which we still need.

It is actually the opposite, except that we will also more easily invest in other energies anyway.

Piffff! ...
: roll:

We are going to make an adjustment: take the cost of fuels out of the cost of living index ... : Mrgreen:

But when the majority concocts laws to force workers, or the unemployed to mobility, with lower wages, and increased transport costs ...
What is that ? Otherwise aggravate the situation of the French who toil, in favor of a caste of profiteers and corrupt?

There it is badly crossed out: the guy to whom one imposes a job at 2 hours of home (round trip I think), if he on the edge of a highway, no luck !! Can you imagine the number of kms he will have to cover to reach the 2 hours ... and in addition paid at 70% of his last salary, if it's a small salary he will have a huge "car" budget ( gasoline, insurance, tires ... maintenance ...).

This is how Sarko wants to reach the unemployment rate of 5%: easy; he fires all the undocumented who work all over the French boxes doing the dirty, badly paid job, he forces the bac + 4 without job to take these jobs with the 2 hour journey .... and the guys get commit suicide; no more security or ANPE costs.

Incredible but true.

If he calls it THE SOLUTION, it was too easy to find that one.

(I remember that there was a guy called Hitler I think who also invented a FINAL SOLUTION ... fortunately we are not there yet, but moral harassment can lead to self-destruction, which avoids building camps).

And during this time the fat rich get more and more fat.

When is the revolution on earth?

Ah, thank you guys for bringing your solution at the same time as the culprits: Sarko and the rich, bouhhh the bad guys not beautiful ... It only needs to put their heads at the end of a peak, huh? As in 1789 ... Or to deport them, it's still more civilized!

Small ignoble parallel to the passage between Sarko and Hitler ...

Finally, if you feel like it ... 8)

France is in the mud because it has allowed its industry to rot and has stubbornly maintained the very high levels of public spending and social assistance which are unsustainable if the economy does not perform enough. And it is a very serious collective fault, from the lowest to the highest of society, which is based respectively on the incompetence of the former and the cowardice of the latter.

The spiral of the economic vicious circle then took place wonderfully: the more the economy rots, the more aid is needed to finance the social security, unemployment and pensions, and the more companies are taxed, the less they produce, etc ... and the more we tax individuals, the less they consume and the more they leave for the richest of them.

We are still in it and for a long time. Our wealth is ruining the billions: tax evasion, ultra-deficit foreign trade, bottomless pit of debt ruining many profitable investment projects (research, infrastructure, innovatons ...). Here is the sad picture :frown:

Pragmatism, courage and righteousness are qualities that are apparently too rare in our good country for him to set out on a promising path. The switch was put on a dead end in the 80s, and since then we've been on the gas in the 90s. Now we're a few meters from the wall ...

Of course explaining that you have to work and sweat not necessarily for a super salary, that you should not abuse public aid, that the situation is fragile and that efforts must be maintained, it is not very seller to get elected ... But in a democracy, a people has only the leaders it deserves, and only suffers the policy it provokes through its elections and its subsequent refusal of government decisions, from the right as from the left !! ...

Our only salvation is to curb spending and revive the industry, especially in clean technologies. But is it possible at the point where we are? Sarko pompously proclaimed that with him "everything becomes possible", but he faces considerable problems, which are probably beyond him like anyone else who would be in his place!

You see that we agree, once again ... : Lol:

When one promises the moon, the heart on the mouth, to be elected, then one compromises and does nothing but nonsense and improvisation, one does not deserve an excuse… One is vile!
When we want to curb spending, we set the example ourselves ...

And you! In your job you train future managers, according to the method that has been so successful, in your eyes, so far!
