Sacred Growth (The doc Monday)

by Christophe » 29/09/14, 22:57

While the crisis is taking hold everywhere, the "return to growth" is systematically invoked by political leaders.

However, all the signals are red, from the announced shortage of fossil fuels to global warming and the destruction of biodiversity. What if, faced with this dogma, there were alternatives? Duration: 93 '

Replayed during the week, but I don't remember when.

These broadcasts are blocked for the outside of Switzerland it seems to me (for questions of copyright, but also due to the editorial policy I presume).

Too bad because they are excellent for knowing the unexpected cogs of our time.

They use special streaming, impossible to intercept (so we can't even store them on DD ...)

Yes!

On ARTE on November 4 at 20:50 p.m. - DVD release on November 6 (hoping it's the same part of the trilogy)

Here is the trailer for the program in 3 parts (of which I saw a part yesterday):
http://www.arte.tv/sites/fr/robin/2013/ ... roissance/

Apparently it's an M2R Films and ARTE France production, so the 3 parts will be visible soon on ARTE, or in redif ... (And indeed sponsored here by the daily "24heures"so diff limited)

This doc "Sacred growth!" is by Marie-Monique Robin whose interview is as follows:

Other links on M2R Films (M2R = Marie-Monique Robin):

On the Attac site:
https://france.attac.org/actus-et-media ... n-soutenir

That's what she says on her cover.

M2R wrote:"... ignorance and disregard for human rights have led to acts of barbarism which revolt the conscience of humanity and that the advent of a world where human beings are free to speak and to believe, freed of terror and misery, has been proclaimed as the highest aspiration of man ... "

Given the religious character that the economic system operates on people's minds, it would be more apt to speak of "sacred growth".
Politicians are now calling for the "return of growth" ... as it was a redemptive entity that came to save us!
It is high time that rational thinkers take power!

A nice box to offer or be offered for the holidays:

http://boutique.arte.tv/f10070-pack_mar ... econologie

The complete environmental surveys of Marie Monique Robin published by Arte Editions in 4 DVDs: Sacred growth, The World according to Monsanto, Our Daily Poison, Harvests of the future

4 films, 4 surveys to better understand the challenges of agroecology today.

Around the world Marie-Monique Robin investigates and interviews the greatest international experts, in order to show the limits of a system and to propose positive alternatives for the decades to come.

I hadn't noticed that The World according to Monsanto et Our Daily Poison was by the same author (by the same author?)
