Minsk says it accepted Russian gas rate hike in 2007
Belarus has agreed to a sharp increase in the price paid for Russian gas in 2007, but Moscow does not want to sign the agreement for next year until at the same time as agreements for 2008-2011, said first vice president on Saturday. Belarusian Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko at a press conference in Minsk.
He said Belarus has agreed to pay Russian gas for $ 100 per m3, up from $ 46 currently.
"But Russia is pushing for an agreement covering the entire four years," he added.
Uh ... if it was 100 $ the m3 I would like to know the pressure ... at 1020 mBar (pressure of natural gas in France it seems to me), 1m3 of gas contains roughly the equivalent of a L of petroleum ...
So you should read $ 100 for 1000 m3 I guess ...

Latvia accepts doubling of Russian gas tariffs
Friday December 29 2006
RIGA, December 29 - RIA Novosti. The Latvian gas monopoly Latvijas Gaze's board of directors approved on Friday the increase in the purchase price of Russian gas to 210-260 dollars per thousand cubic meters, against 130-145 dollars in 2006, which will take effect on January 1 .
"Latvijas Gaze is already ready to sign a new contract with Gazprom which will automatically continue its sales of Russian gas to Latvia in 2007", RIA Novosti learned from Latvijas Gaze.
Unlike Belarus and Ukraine, the Baltic countries have never refused the price hikes announced by Gazprom, and they therefore benefit from gradual price growth.
From 2008, the purchase price of gas for Latvia must increase further by 30% to reach the European average. Its amount will then depend on oscillations on the international gas market.
The Baltic countries represent an insignificant market for Gazprom, i.e. almost 5,5 billion cubic meters of gas per year, compared to more than 7 billion for Poland and more than 20 billion for Belarus.

100 $ against 260 ... the Russian gas market is far from being regulated ... When the meters count ... Finally a "good thing" anyway: the doubling is applied everywhere ...
