Solar magnetic storm ended all electricity cf 1859

by dedeleco » 07/10/12, 14:11

On A5 at the moment, we recall that the sun is making magnetic storms sometimes, capable by their force, of causing all of our electrical installations to burn, like a little on March 13, 1989 in Canada, Quebec in the dark, and especially in 1859 !!

We would find ourselves all over the earth, all our electrical installations, with huge electric voltages shriveling everything, power stations, lines, computers, satellites, etc., more GPS, more telephone, more TV, more info, more electricity, more heating, more solar, all the nuclear power plants in the world exploded, without cooling, impossible electricity, to cool them, no more transformers, an armada of Fukushima Chernobyls, etc ... more of everything that allows you to live, and back to the age of the caves to protect themselves, from radiation.

It happened in 1859, in one day 40 years of normal solar radiation, but we only had the telegraph, which made big sparks.

etc ..;

Ask Quebec in 1989, which had only a small sample, of what lies in wait for the whole earth, sometimes for millennia, destruction of all our electrical and satellite installations !!

The probability increases with the return of a maximum of solar activity !!

A solar storm as powerful as that of 1859 will destroy much of the electrical and electronic networks on which we have become dependent. The network of high-voltage lines will act as an antenna which will carry unimaginable voltages to the transformers. The report's authors calculated that 300 critical transformers will be destroyed within 90 seconds, plunging 130 people into the dark.

The scenario developed by the committee from there is really apocalyptic. Indeed, from there, instantaneously or gradually, the set of everything that allows life stops working:

No more water because we can't pump it anymore.
More trains and subways
No more fuel and gas delivery. Even the pipelines are stopped.
Coal-fired power plants have about 30 days of reserve, but to whom will they deliver power without transformers?
Truck deliveries work until the tanks, which can no longer be filled, are empty
The back-up generators themselves will run until they can no longer be supplied with fuel

Explosion of all the cooler nuclear power plants everywhere !!

The hospitals will operate 72 hours, until their generators stop.
Stores will sell (without a cash register and without credit cards - you imagine?) Until their shelves are empty, because they won't be stocked for a long time.
The population can no longer eat, heat or cool, or heal. Diabetics die first (there are millions in the US) ...

It will take years to rebuild everything. Building a large transformer takes a year - if the factory has electricity - and we will quickly run out of replacement transformers. During all these years, people will die by the millions ... of hunger, thirst, diseases ... like today in the Third World, and for the same basic reason: the lack of electricity.

You are a touch in witchcraft there!

The hydro-Québec network has been completely modified since this event, fluctuation correction systems have been added, having had the first high voltage line 750 kvolts, we were the first to experience the jolts of the sun.

For communications well it was not as bad as you describe it because some satellites were affected but not our very large microwave network.

Quebec suffered a general blackout in March 1989 following a solar storm

On March 10, a strong wind left the Sun for Earth. On March 12, the first voltage variations were observed on the Hydro-Québec transmission system. The network control center performed the maneuvers necessary to maintain stability, but at 2:44 a.m. on March 13, the earth's magnetic field varied suddenly and significantly. The network protection equipment then went off and the general failure occurred in less than a minute! Quebec was plunged into darkness for more than nine hours.
Hydro-Québec strengthened its network

Shortly after this outage, Hydro-Québec set up a working group to analyze the events and propose corrective measures. Since then, the following measures have been applied:

Recalibration of protective equipment and increase of the trip threshold. This tactic was effective since very intense magnetic storms which occurred after those of 1989 did not cause any problems.
Implementation of a real-time alert system which measures the disturbances on the electrical network during the magnetic storm.
Modification of network operating procedures. In the event of disruption, Hydro-Québec reduces transit on transmission lines and DC interconnections, and stops all major maneuvers.
Installation of serial compensation equipment on electricity transmission lines to increase network stability. This measure has proven to be very useful in mitigating the impact of magnetic storms.

Quebec is not the only one to suffer the effects of magnetic storms. All utilities located in high latitudes, such as those in Scandinavia, Alaska and northern Russia, are vulnerable. But Hydro-Québec is even more so because Quebec rests on a huge rocky shield that prevents current from flowing in the earth. The electricity then searches for a path, and the power lines offer it a path of least resistance. In addition, the Hydro-Québec network has very long transmission lines, which makes it even more vulnerable to Sun's anger.
International Network

In addition, there is now an international network that monitors the activity of the Sun using several satellites and observatories. The data is then used by regional centers to predict disruptions. One of these centers, located in Ottawa, issues a “weather report” every hour on the Internet. We will be warned in advance, and ... an informed company is worth two!

Yes, we master everything perfectly, we have everything planned, sleep on your two ears, until the next solar flare, huge like that of 1859, (a few times every 1000 years) dramatically stronger, which will block everything, surprising all of us, capable of detonating nuclear power plants, more cooled for days, all shriveled, transformer, lines, communications, etc.

In France, I am not sure that it was taken into account correctly, as for earthquakes and tsunamis, underestimated with certainty, everywhere, not only in Japan, since it would take a memory over 10000 years, that we don't have, and especially that it would cost too much !!.

The risk is not negligible, I thought about it in early September with the threat "Nibiru"

http://www.wikistrike.com/article-ibiru ... 89808.html

Indeed, I could still withdraw water from my tank and make it potable with permanganate, but I could not even be called by my customers, withdraw money from my bank, etc. : Cry:

Strictly speaking, a PV panel connected to a battery would make it possible to troubleshoot for certain applications, but not even enough to run the boiler or the fridge. Just enough to make a little light at night, but not even post on econology since all telecom networks would be down : Cry:

It is the most plausible hypothesis (with the collapse of the banking and economic system) which could explain an "end of the world" ... for this December 21? Not so on lol!

wikistrike reports vague information on this invisible body planet X with all kinds of names for centuries, to check:
thus G1.9 remanent of a recent supernova is 27700 light years away !!
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/SNR_G1.9%2B0.3
therefore safe except for a novel !!!

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plan%C3%A8te_X

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planets_beyond_Neptune

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fictional_ ... lar_System

Otherwise, given the current detection capacities of brown dwarf type bodies, which are so close, they cannot remain invisible:

read:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_dwarf

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wide-field ... te_note-26

http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/obs ... wn-dwarfs/

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/R%C3%A9manent_de_supernova

So far, WISE data have revealed 100 new brown dwarfs. Of these, six are classified as cool Y's. One of the Y dwarfs, called WISE 1828 + 2650, is the record holder for the coldest brown dwarf with an estimated atmospheric temperature cooler than room temperature, or less than 298 K (25 ° C, 80 ° F). It emits no visible light at all, making it looks like a planet rather than a star

NASA's WISE mission has detected 100 new brown dwarfs, [21] and could possibly discover some closer to the Earth than Proxima Centauri .... bout 4.24 light-years distant.

Results

By May 27, 2010, WISE discovered 12,141 previously unknown asteroids, of which 64 were considered near-Earth, and 11 new comets. [25] This grew to 113 near-Earth asteroids and 16 comets by August 26, 2010. [26] Two unambiguous brown dwarfs have been detected, although their distances are unknown, as well as some brown dwarf candidates. [27]

By October 2010, over 33,500 new asteroids and comets were discovered, and nearly 154,000 solar system objects were observed by WISE. [10] Out of this total on that date, 136 new NEA, PHA, & Comets were discovered. [28] Out of these, 19 were new potentially hazardous asteroids, celestial objects both more likely to hit Earth and cause significant destruction (not to be confused with the more common but less dangerous Near Earth object (NEO)). [28] By Oct 2010, there were 1,151 known PHA, including those found by WISE. [29]

Discovery of an ultra-cool brown dwarf, WISEPC J045853.90 + 643451.9, about 10 to 30 light years away from Earth, was announced in late 2010 based on early data. [30] In July 2011 it was announced that WISE had discovered the first Earth trojan asteroid, 2010 TK7. [

Targets within the Solar system

WISE was not able to detect Kuiper belt objects, as their temperature is too low. [21] It was able to detect any objects warmer than 70–100 Kelvins. A Neptune-sized object would be detectable out to 700 AU, a Jupiter-mass object out to one light year (63,000 AU), where it would still be within the Sun's zone of gravitational control. A larger object of 2–3 Jupiter masses would be visible at a distance from up to seven to ten light years. [21]

At the time of planning, it was estimated that WISE would detect about 300,000 main-belt asteroids, of which approximately 100,000 will be new, and some 700 near-Earth objects including about 300 undiscovered. That translates to ~ 1000 new Main-belt asteroids per day, and 1–3 NEOs per day. The peak of magnitude distribution for NEOs will be about 21–22 V. WISE would detect each typical Solar system object 10–12 times over about 36 hours with the interval of 3 hours. [20]

Myths around planet X

The writer Zecharia Sitchin, in his book the Twelfth Planet, describes the planet Mardouk as being located in a long, elliptical orbit, entering the Solar System every 3 years and causing there changes of the poles and other earth disasters . Thanks to his knowledge of Sumerian, the Semite and other ancient languages and thanks to his research and the study of archaeological and biblical data collected for 600 years, he advanced his thesis according to which the gods known in all the ancient mythologies existed in real form, and were humanoid aliens, very much like human beings, who had come here from the tenth planet, called Planet X in the popular press and Mardouk by the Sumerians. According to Sitchin, they genetically created our species originally as slaves to work in gold mines, by crossing their genes with those of Homo erectus.

On the contrary very strong solar flares are real, unpredictable, and already serious for our all-electric civilization.

The stronger the disasters, the rarer they are: the worst: near supernova 500 million years approximately, large asteroid 30 to 100 million years, gigantic super-eruption, similar, etc ...
So we must protect ourselves from those not too rare, already very strong, and for the others it is almost impossible.

We exist only because these strong disasters have become quite rare, typically frequency of a million years, following 4,5 billion random years of evolution of these disasters, which eliminated the worst possible, by aging of the solar system and the stars which surround it !!!!

There is no point in believing in imaginary rumors or fictions.

There are already enough real ones, even individual ones, like dying by falling from a ladder, like one of my neighbors younger than me, among the 20000 deaths per year by domestic accidents.

Well ! Happy reading "the twelfth planet"
: Cheesy:
I would point out that the “end of the energy world” was for September 21 (or around).
Electromagnetic storm coming from the sun, due to a sensitive position of the planets and the presence of (?) Nemesis, Nibiru, Hercobulus, Marduk…
It was an official warning from NASA that there was a certain risk of destruction of power stations and the energy clash. (It was also a bit the case in March already).

In short, there was no alarming news these days. But it is a condition of the populations.

I had nevertheless noticed that 3 cosmonauts had returned to the earth just before, and that the 3 others would leave a little later, because "there was a technical bp on the launcher it seems…"
Anyway, that day, I had an emotional thought for the 3 campers garrisoned on the space station…
