Insulation oil hoses car help!

by the middle » 04/02/09, 19:31

Hello,
I just moved my bi-fuel made in aeden to my second blue bird.
Result of the races, the insulation is no longer reassemblable. :?
Was this insulation black (Neoprene?) Used by refrigeration workers?
The problem is, I don't know where to buy this insulation ..
Have an idea? :? Image
This insulation was placed on the oil hoses at the outlet of the plate heat exchanger, and on the water hoses ...

Neoprene-type insulation (like foam but smooth on the outside), in France there are in all bricostrumpf and other LeroyRama or CastoMerlin corner. It exists in self adhesive too and you find that in the heating or plumbing department.
By the way, chai not if it is due to oil leaks.: Mrgreen:

I thought of something else ...

What if you were using cardboard impregnated with tar or some waterproofing products?

Isn't PolyEthylene foam used for insulation of heating pipes (or soundproofing panels)?

Disadvantage of the PU foam it sticks excruciatingly and it expands so hard that it can bend the sheet, (real cases) but also if you have to apply it under a car ... it does not look clean! : Mrgreen:

the simplest is that you find insulation for air conditioning tube which are equivalent in inches, they are normally to fit (no side cut) so you have to disassemble the hoses to put them. armaflex
See Casto or equivalent.

It's classify m1 I think. Good for the interior.
