Tpe alternative fuels help please

by gaya » 11/12/07, 13:28

I am a pupil of 1st s bio who does a tpe on alternative fuels and I would like to know more about:
- the hydrogen engine
- biokerosene
- biofuel
- biofuels (vegetable oils)
thank you in advance

in terms of other transport I also have information that I would like to be able to know if it is real: is bio-kerosene not a means of tricking the cytoyen because this fuel is made up of 65 percent kerosene so oil

hi and welcome here.

65% is always better than 100% right?

Hello !

an engine is a system providing energy thanks to energy ... there is therefore the efficiency that counts: a conventional piston engine will not have the same efficiency as a stirling engine "for example". ..

so the fuel is almost a detail ...

otherwise, there are BTLs: Biomass To Liquid, a way of trapping the methane resulting from the disintegration of the organic, ie everything around us: cow manure, our feces, sizes of forest, marshland etc. all the producing sludge!
instead of letting it escape into greenhouse gases (methane CH4 3000 times worse than CO2 since the molecular structure is good + complex), it must be stored, these are the biogas instalaltions, in Germany there are at 3500, in France 4! ............ in Sweden a train runs on this biogas.

but let's go back to the BTLs, fuels of the future let's hope so: they transform this gas into liquid via the Fisher-Tropps process! of the names of these gentlemen of course.

hoping to have you referred, good TPE!

??
sorry there must be confusion, what did you understand?

oil is fossil = CO2 accumulation (among others) over time.

the so-called falsely natural gas (found in nature! clever ...) is also fossil.

but BIOgas is not fossil!

I told you about the BTLs, more practical than storing than biogas.

no I say that because you will not find more "clean" as a process!

if not i listen to you?

Finally, I drive in vegetable oil, it is not a fossil fuel, it comes from the plant that grows by absorbing the CO2 that you emit when driving with a vehicle that drives in vegetable oil ;-)

otherwise why, fossil = not "clean"? what is "clean" then?
we want to help you we must tell us a little +!

The plane nothing: the gasoline of small planes (100LL) is even very loaded with lead (4x the rate of the old super), and the kerosene difficult to replace (the alternative fuel must not freeze and n not absorb water)
the boats? of course sailing! and for sailboats there are some that have an electric auxiliary propulsion, the batteries being recharged by a hydrogenerator during sailing trips, suddenly we lose a little speed, but there is nothing without nothing ...
otherwise there is also muscle propulsion : Cheesy:

As for the hydrogen engine, it will be interesting the day when there will be a non-energy-consuming method to obtain hydrogen which is very far from being the case today ...

not to mention dangerous compressed storage
