and yet there was already advertising, traffic jams, heavy goods vehicles circulating in the middle of small cars, pedestrians crossing anywhere, etc ... In short, just like now, but without pollution!

On the contrary, London in the XIXth Century and the first half of the XXth century was VERY polluted ... by the intensive use of coal in factories. The famous London fog does not refer to the climate but to the cloud of pollution that hung over the city. Pollution has changed in nature.
