2 questions:
1- where is the buffer tank located, on the start or on the return circuit?
2- why and what advantages or disadvantages?

In your case, the buffer tank has two roles:
It will accumulate the calories to restore them later and it will also avoid a large number of starts of the compressor of the heat pump, which will improve its lifespan.
I think the ball should be mounted in parallel with the cap.
If there is a need for heating, circulation priority is given to the radiators. Once the interior temperature has been reached, the circulation is directed to the buffer tank. The heat pump runs as long as there is a cold return, ie heating is needed or the buffer tank is not fully hot.
The heat pump stops if the balloon is hot and circulation then takes place between the balloon and the radiators. It restarts when the tank is cold and there is a need for heating.
We must choose a regulation in accordance with this principle. Perhaps that of the CAP allows it?
