Wind power: for or against the wind?

on the agenda in my natal sancerrois, I do not know what thinks between the for cons and the "po po" often issued by ignorant or anti wind turbines ...
- renewable energy
- effect on the landscape (aesthetics)
- nuisance waves (GSM phone and TV) ???
- deafness ???
- others?

What is certain is that between the Belleville sur Loire nuclear power plant (at 30 km) and a wind turbine field at 1km from my home, I prefer the latter solution, considering the production waste of the power stations, that our descendants will have to manage

For !

I will go further by facilitating individual wind turbines or by promoting short circuits, to avoid line losses between production and consumption.

Regarding birds, all the gigantic wind turbines I saw had a relatively low rotational speed of the rotor and every bird has enough reflexes to avoid a blade. If he can not, it's because he has a serious problem and he could just as easily hit a pole, a house, ...

For the noise, I do not find it awkward at all, because when there is a lot of wind, there is an ambient noise caused by the obstacles which is quite high. I invite anyone to go near a wind turbine to realize it.

For and I agree with the opinion of Oceano.

I would also add that I am more for projects on a "human" scale (no overpowering), self-financed (investment + profits) by local actors (local association, communes ... that is to say as in Denmark or some projects underway in Brittany) and profitable without redemption or intermediaries (direct sale of electricity).
For example, mega projects financed by Spiff, a subsidiary of Edf, are hardly econological in my opinion.

Hello
Before setting up a windmill or a wind farm, it is necessary to make a wind study to see in a year if the average wind is favorable, several studies have been done in Quebec and once again favorable sites are found quite high in the north but very interesting since it is not far from the large dams, and the electric lines are already posed, it would allow to let the water level rise, because a low level dam consumes more to do the same energy, the wind and a promising industry for regions where there is wind The wind map is already established.
For birds migrations and as well determined there are maps that are provided to us every year for airmen,
in general migratory birds follow the same paths.

I'm for too!

And aesthetically, I find it rather pretty and distracting, it does not generate me to have one in front of me!

The bottom of the problem is: we want to have enough energy in not too polluting quantity, be it the waste, the climatic evolution, visual pollution, sound or other, especially health, and in addition not expensive! What spoiled spoiled children are we (I put myself in the bag too, of course!)!

The scarcity of oil and the cul de sac of the atom will compel us to think and act differently. Also, even if we strongly reduce our energy expenditure, it is time, before jumping into the void, to ask ourselves the real questions about nuisances ... Do not do like oil: at the beginning, who raised his voice against the risks of unbridled consumption of this energy? Do not do as for the atom: nobody has known or wanted to see for a long time the very long-lasting harmfulness of radioactivity, nor the problem of waste treatment ... And what about these radioactive Chernobylian clouds that stop at the borders? of our country ?

Morality, let's look closely, very closely, the consequences of the "fields of industrial wind turbines ... Perhaps, as Christophe says, the atomization in small eloiennes for small groups is a solution. To offset the effect of the wind why not play the hydraulic accumulation, namely to pump water to an upper reservoir on windy days, and to use white coal on days without?

And the noise? A friend of mine went to Sweden. We would have observed cases of deafness related to the low frequencies of wind noise in the blades and pylons ... Myth or reality? And the preservation of magnificent sites?

All this is not a real fire against what I consider to be the least harm, but a desire to know and prevent, before it is too late ...

Gigantism will not bring anything good.
It can be considered in isolated places, uninhabited (does it still?), But it will be at the expense of the landscape, and the local fauna ... For the happiness of large industrial groups.
No question of gigantism, near the populations.
Smaller structures, on a human scale are possible ... But the wind turbine, kind of tripale, smaller diameter, will have to turn faster, and generate noise. Therefore ...
Noise is the modern scourge ... It insinuates and imposes itself everywhere in our life ... Let's take conscience!

Agree with you, we must fight to reduce energy consumption while improving well-being and that in all areas. Until my last breath of life I will fight for it, the future of my little children depends on it.

However, as Christophe says, I am also for wind turbines on a human scale.

I heard about wind towers does anyone have any information, is there a website on the subject?

Have a good weekend and see you soon

What causes noise are, among other things, the turbulence at the ends of the blades. On vertical axis wind turbines, these turbulences are smaller and according to the builders, they are less noisy.

Similarly, all the gear that is used to accelerate the speed of rotation of the generator with respect to the rotor speed is a source of noise, such as the noise of a gearbox ...

The smaller the wind turbine, the lower the intensity and the fewer line losses.

Hello
I spent most of my life on sailboats, for a long time with aeolines.
Classic is unbearable (it vibrates all the time and the shell is sound box and when we do a montage in the air we lose a lot in output), vertical axis (equivalent surface equivalent) it produces that slab.
Today I have 2 high photovoltaic panels of games and a hydrogenator; but above all I hunted the consomation.j 'arrives at a positive balance in navigation and almost balancing anchor.
