An Arte documentary to see absolutely on the energy revolution in progress ... finally which tries to be in progress ...

It's beautiful, it's long ... like Arte!
You may find that I am abusing, but, since you had the patience to view everything, could you give us a little summary? 8)

Roh he abuses! : Cheesy:

No, I haven't seen everything yet, but the beginning and the theme were enough to share it with you!

Summary by Arte:

Between the depletion of fossil fuel reserves, global warming and nuclear threats, the time seems ripe to change the foundations of energy production. The Fukushima disaster teaches us that it is no longer time to procrastinate. The question of how remains to be resolved.

The fourth revolution: towards energy autonomy
Documentary by Carl-A. Fechner (Germany, 2010, 1h22mn)

Going beyond pessimistic warnings about climate change, this documentary shows that solutions are possible to switch to renewable energies in the next thirty years. In various regions of the planet, the film meets people who, in various capacities, are leading concrete actions to make possible the abandonment of fossil fuels and nuclear power and the switch to renewable energies. An entrepreneur explains, for example, how you can design an office building that costs only two euros per year per m² in energy expenditure. Electric cars, solar panels, wind turbines, biogas turbines, these techniques already have practical and efficient applications. And the problems of energy storage or exchange will be better and better resolved, assure experts like Hermann Scheer, German deputy, alternative Nobel Prize 1999 and author among others of "Energy autonomy" (Actes Sud, 2007) .

Anxious to give a voice to the director of this film - which has the most admissions in Germany in 2010 in the documentary category - also received the opinion of Fatih Birol, chief economist at the Agency international energy, headquartered in Paris. For him, the proponents of renewable energy are naive. By their words, though most show that they are well aware of the issues other than ecological their projects and know that the opposition of large international energy groups will be fierce. More than ever, it is clear that the "fourth revolution" is political will and will not do that if we really want it.

Here I watched the documentary.

It is a very good documentary, a lot of points are covered including bio-climatism and insulation ...

We visit a concentrated solar thermal power plant and molten salts (41% annual load factor according to the figures).

There is obvious bad faith on the part of a director of the IEA ... who only relies on fossils ... and the sequestration of carbon dioxide ... (hum hum ...)

The German expert who says that the biggest pollution is the mental pollution that we do around renewable energies for the benefit of fossils is therefore quite judicious!

I also liked the Chinese who said that the financial crisis is only temporary and that the real crises are those of energy and global warming ...

For the rest: look at it, you won't waste your time!

Oh yes, and those will hurt!
Thanks for the links!

And also, little forget, on nuclear ... which is safe according to him and whose waste is no problem (of course) ...

Interview probably filmed before Fukushima ...

Question Bonux: are the IEA and the IAEA sister organizations?

I would rather see an incestuous relationship. : Cheesy:

Well technically between sisters, it's incest, isn't it?

Okay, I made a news with this report: https://www.econologie.com/la-4ieme-revo ... -4370.html

A brief analysis of the figures announced in the report concerning a concentrated solar thermal power plant:

180 GWh produced for 50 MW of installed power gives an annual load factor of 41%!

Load factor = energy produced / (installed power * 8740)

8740 is the number of hours in a year. If 100% is because the plant always works at nominal power (never the case even for nuclear power where we are in the 70 to 80% range)

In terms of load factor, we therefore manage to make 1/2 of nuclear with solar be very good and probably the best load factor of renewable energies ... (which should close the valve of some ...)

Back to "hydraulic, wind, geothermal, marine energy, biogas ..."
