Thermal Energy Seas

by kumkat » 15/02/11, 10:45

Hello,

Via an article in this week's new factory, I learn that certain projects will soon enter the test phase ...

All that instead of betting on negawatts ...

If we heat the seabed to 4 ° C currently, with this kind of power station, which heats this deep water, and with greenhouse gases like CH4 liquefied at the bottom of these seas which are released by heating the bottom of seas, it will be the most serious irreversible catastrophe, because the climate will be totally changed and we will return to the climate without ice at the poles 55 million years ago and the sea 70m higher !!

So this kind of plant transfers heat from the surface to the bottom of the sea clearly contributes to global warming, even more than the CO2 released to produce the same energy by burning a fossil fuel !!

The climate of the earth for more than a million years is more and more unstable oscillating proven by the curves passed with the last oscillations of the sea level of 120m:

It can still climb 75m.

It is much better to use the summer heat in winter by storing underground, never again using C02 fossil fuel for heating.
And it really works:

Given that there are planets full of methane, given the oil indices at great depth, abiotic oil is almost a certainty and with methane stored everywhere cold on earth, there is the certainty of reserves of fossil fuel reserves allowing to multiply by at least 10 the concentration of CO2, exactly as it happened 55 million years ago, by warming the bottom of the oceans !!

So it can happen again if we burn or clear all the fuels underground, in particular by heating the ocean floor by recovering thermal energy from the seas, falsely classified as economical in CO2 and greenhouse gases, while it is much more catastrophic by heating the ocean floor to release methane at the bottom which has a greenhouse effect far greater than that of CO2 !!

We already had a 2008 topic with a lot of info: https://www.econologie.com/forums/energie-th ... t4853.html

Demonstrator was scheduled at the meeting:

It's reassuring to know that, thank you.
