Hello everyone, I ask the advice of the specialists forum for a very practical question ... My father must change the boiler. Originally, he was tempted to switch to gas, only the heating engineer advised him to stay in fuel oil ... for practical / economic reasons.

I am a little short of arguments in favor of gas. I would have to find a strong argument. For this I would need your help;)

So I was wondering if gas follows the trend of oil. Since the price of the barrel will continue to climb in the years to come, will it be the same for gas? : Rolleyes:

the price of gas IS aligned with that of oil ... otherwise the "world" would change energy every 6 months given the fluctuation of prices. It is just that the price of gas is fixed for 6 months, it is not allowed to move during these 6 months. In the current context there is a good chance that the gas will increase sharply during the next change. So finally instead of being quiet for a year, the price stability with gas is only for 6 months ....

For the rest you should know: better combustion with gas, less pollution, often better efficiency but slightly higher installation cost we also generally advise against condensing boilers ... apparently too unreliable ...
