Advertising the concrete naturally; intox or greenwashing?

by Christophe » 23/03/11, 19:57

Seen in the last house and works: the concrete would be, after this ad that looks very much like pure greenwashing, an economic and ecological material... in short, concrete an econological building material? : Shock: : Shock:

Cellular concrete I want ... traditional concrete, I have some big doubts ...

Just 2 figures about concrete:

a) Gray energy of concrete (according to wiki: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%C3%A9ton)

* block: 410 kWh / m3
* reinforced concrete: 1 850 kWh / m3

Either 180 L oil equivalent m3 ... and still it probably does not include transport and installation ...

This page gives on average 700 kWh / m3: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89nergie_grise

To compare with insulating materials: https://www.econologie.com/choisir-un-is ... -3605.html
See as well: https://www.econologie.com/forums/energie-gr ... t4703.html

b) Thermal conductivity of concrete: about 2.0! (An average insulation is 0.04 50 times more insulation, it takes 2m concrete to isolate as well as 4 cm insulation!)

After yes, in pubs you can actually put everything in green on paper ... What is the "police" doing? : Shock:
