Bonjour,
I have wood that was cut at least 35 years ago. it has been stored outside and is no longer usable as firewood.
Can it be used in a garden and how?
Thank you in advance

What kind of wood? It's a bit vague ...

Re: Use of wood
If I understand correctly, if it is no longer usable as firewood, it has "molded" and has become quite light ???
In that case :
a) Due to the humidity, the fungi were responsible for breaking it down, probably aided by xylophagous insects (which "eat wood") ...
So carbon and energy have "gone up in the air" ...
You therefore have a little "spongy" organic matter left and the "other elements" which have not evaporated ... Except that it is in an "organic packaging", it is quite close to ashes!
b) conclusion: you can use without any problem. But this is not "much"! Consider that you put "a little spice" in a dish that doesn't really exist!

... important factor in the constitution of a quality humus, necessary for a better retention and regulation of water ...
... the dead tree is not dangerous for the forest, and is on the contrary an essential element of the silvigenetic cycle https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bois_mort ... uget2007-2
Deadwood, recognized as one of the indicators of sustainable management, hosts almost 25% of forest biodiversity http://cemadoc.irstea.fr/oa/PUB00022119 ... te-ge.html

Re: Use of wood
Hello,
You are not the only one who has found himself in such a situation. I had obtained wood via the classified ads of https://itunes.apple.com/fr/app/paruven ... 18814?mt=8, but I couldn't use everything. So I ended up with a good quantity which I could not sell because of their quality which deteriorated over time. After reading an article on http://www.rustica.fr/articles-jardin/r ... ,3294.html, I finally rented a shredder to make compost with the wood chips. A visit to recycling.ooreka.fr and sietrem.fr allowed me to discover other green waste that I could mix.
