Hello
The nitrate level of tap water is approximately 38 mg / l.
To see the water quantity in your municipality:
http://www.sante-sports.gouv.fr/resultats-du-controle-sanitaire-de-la-qualite-de-l-eau-potable.html
So I opted for under-sink filtration with anti-nitrate cartridges.
It works very well but the disadvantage is that a cartridge is worth on average 50 € (with shipping costs) and it must be changed often.
I came across this info for regeneration:
"Regenerates twice a month with a solution of 2 g. Of salt in 150 cl of water. Leave to soak for 20 minutes and clean with fresh water before replacing the filter in its jar."
I tested and it works well the nitrate level has dropped to zero.
When you see the price of a kilo of salt it is quite a saving.
By cons let the water run to prevent it from being too salty

150 g solution. salt in 20 cl of water
weird because on
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorure_de_sodium
the solubility of 357g / l only dissolves in 20cl = 1/5 liter as 357/5 = 71,4g, the rest does not dissolve !!
More precise to regenerate:

In fact, all of these things are expensive.
The cost is to sell it to you ...
Already you withdraw 1 / 6th for VAT
of the balance, you withdraw 20 or 30% for the reseller, 20 or 30% for the wholesaler. (distributor, importer)
As we do not sell a lot, there are shipping costs.
25-30 euros for a Brita type cartridge (for tap: treatment capacity: 900 liters) it's really expensive too.
That said, our friend, does the dishes with filtered water ....

drops to zero? it seems too good to me ...
It is true that it is an approximation in reading with strips to see the nitrate level
On the other hand I use the jar which contains the cartridge, I put in the 150 g of salt of lukewarm water for the dissolution, once all is dissolved I immerse the cartridge in it, I add water until that the cartridge is flooded and I wait 15 minutes, I rinse everything and I restart and the reading result is the color of "zero"

I do my best to not leave trash world to my children ....
I did the regeneration this afternoon !!!
chatelot16 wrote:proof that he read it somewhere but seen on the internet is not proof that it is true
and when in addition there is something wrong it puts the whole thing in doubt
150g of salt for 20cl ca 750g / l: absolutely impossible as well noticed by deleleco
I did the regeneration this afternoon !! the resins were very amber in color after soaking, they became sand-colored again, which is proof that there is still migration to salt water.
By cons it is true that I did not do the dosage indicated on the internet (see the post above)

Unfortunately the shipping costs hurt, I get it from a local merlin store for around 48 €
