Install a rainwater collector under the house

by Morgan » 10/12/08, 20:26

Hello, on the house that I want to renovate, the ground floor floor needs to be replaced.
My question is to know if it is possible to install a concrete tank (self-construction) at the level of the crawl space of the house while keeping a withdrawal at the level of the walls of the house and by mounting walls in breeze block on hedgehog and slab?...
Is there a health risk with this body of water under the house (bad energy, humidity ...)?
Does the crawl space remain effective by being between the tank and the walls of the house?
Thank you for lighting my lantern!

An open pool under a house is not recommended.
The humidity level in the house would soar!

What can make it complicated when you can make it simple? Pkoi take out the heavy artillery?

There are tank-baches ("inflatable" therefore) which would be perfect in your case, ie putting a tank in the crawl space.

If the volume you want remains reasonable (<6L of head) the price of these tanks remains reduced. I believe that for 000L it costs around 5000 to 200 €.

Otherwise you can make a cased concrete but you will have to waterproof the upper slab also (porosity of the concrete).

Yep it's not bad this idea of tank tarpaulin, is it not important to keep a crawl space on the sides of this recuperator.
And by the way how does the overflow of the tank go?

There is no overflow, when it fart you have an indoor pool for dwarfs or cavers in the bottom of your cellar :D

Good without laughing: the overflow is done "upstream".

The sellers who offer these tank covers probably have all the accessories that go with them.

We talked about it in other subject do a research: https://www.econologie.com/forums/search.php

I do not recommend leaning the tanks against your foundation walls if you do not want to see your house on the ground!
