Drain gray water in the soil conditions?

by gilthoniel » 07/09/08, 16:43

Hello everyone!

My stepfather settled in a small country house which has its sanitation system up to standards. We have a small wooden chalet right next to the house where we will spend a few weeks with my wife and my son.
This chalet is not equipped, except a water supply from the house.
I'm going to build a dry toilet there, but I would like to put a sink in it.

My question is the following:
Considering that this sink will only be used to wash your hands or face and brush your teeth, is it possible to discharge gray water directly into the ground behind the chalet, ON CONDITION to use only natural products : Aleppo soap for the hands and face, baking soda for the teeth ...? (or other 100% natural organic products ...)?

I wonder because making a "diversion" to the individual sanitation system may not be easy ...

Thank you for your advice or solutions.

See you soon

If you want to make a system a little more efficient than a direct spreading, opt for a mini reed filter (if you are not on a northern slope and not too high in altitude).
Otherwise, a pond system can also purify gray water.
