This may seem derisory but a few harmless gestures can save us a little water. This will change the dark future of the environment, maybe not but good ...
So I came across a little topic last month about watering the garden and some tips for saving water. So I share it with you: http://www.lesclesdumidi.com/actualite/ ... 54620.html
Simple steps: save water in the garden
A little "nice", all that !!! To put it mildly.
1) The base: we do not water with tap water, but by collecting rainwater (cistern, pond ...)
2) Then: choice of crops; some are more "greedy" than others
3) Soil: organic matter in the soil = "sponge"; it stores the rains and returns them to the plants as they go
4) Ground cover: avoids runoff and evaporation (mulch, ...)
5) And then, in fact, watering in the morning / evening, drip rather than sprinkling, watering a lot sometimes rather than a little every day (in agriculture, there is a "water tower" per plot; the sprinkler is moved ...). Etc ...

we divide by 2, water consumption by the way
from sprinkling to drips
we divide by 4 or 5, the water consumption by the way
from sprinkling to underground irrigation located at the root
we divide by 10, water consumption by the way
from sprinkling to above-ground cultivation
minima
a funnel sunk temporarily into the ground
which directs the water from the watering can directly into the basement (10cm),
near the root.

we divide by 10 the consumption of water by passing
from sprinkling to above-ground cultivation
from sprinkling to above-ground cultivation

It's funny how much water consumption interests the world right now ...
