Aries pump - MADAGASCAR
The ram pump is a energy-saving lift pump apart from the inertia produced by a waterfall. Madagascar, like many suffering countries, would be of great use. Local manufacturing is possible and remains an opportunity for economic development.

Hi and welcome here
We have already talked a lot about hydraulic ram pumping, here is a huge subject that talks about it: https://www.econologie.com/forums/belier-hyd ... t5268.html
(almost 500 responses with great achievements)

Effectively. I place the debate on economic dev
I place the debate on economic dev following your newsletter today:
" However, econology, in the macro economic sense, could be a great tool to boost growth! You can give some suggestions on this topic."
The problem of developing countries is the impossibility of reaching engineers in order to size their ram. An NGO, a subsidized company, a partnership with the technical college of Diego Suarez and a university or LT in FR or any other solution can be a sustainable development solution ... I am a farmer in the north of mada and internet speed is very weak. Not easy to study the subject ...
On my land, I can cause a fall of 2m over a length of 30m, in a 4l / s channel with retention basin. I want to raise the water 4m. How to size the pump with small means knowing that the delivery rate of 10 liters per hour is sufficient for the needs.
I'm just one of thousands ...
If someone can size it for me, I can promote the system in the north of Madagascar and find local partners and put the university and the LT in the picture. But I have to release a prototype.
Hoping to have avoided the off topic, cordially, François Gansoinat, Société Agricole et Pédagogique.

Aries pumps in Madagascar
Do you know Thierry Le Goff? I know he makes handcrafted ram pumps in Madagascar.
He participated in the foundation of the SIDE association (see http://www.education.gov.mg/www/?p=1705).
The easiest way to contact him is to go through Véronique Delancret.
You can tell them that it's from me (Frédéric Poncet).

Re: Indeed. I place the debate on economic dev
Yes the ram fits perfectly with a view to econological development... whether it is here or in developing countries ... you did well to talk about it again, I am just saying that we have already worked out the subject quite a bit!
With a few pieces of plumbing and pipes, you will be able to do something with 2m of water column! I managed to do it with 30 cm!
There are sizing data and monitoring of achievements right here: https://www.econologie.com/forums/belier-hyd ... t5268.html
Here is the drop table of a hydraulic ram for example.
For 2m of fall, we can see that you can go up water up to 14 m ... but in this case with a low flow ...
And more hydraulic theory here: https://www.econologie.com/theorie-du-be ... -3811.html
You will find plans here: https://www.econologie.com/plans-de-real ... -3808.html

does the belier pump need no energy?
wrong!
the belier pump needs the hydraulic energy of a waterfall!
you need a certain flow of water which gives its energy when going down, and this energy allows to go up higher a lower flow
so there must be conditions that would allow a small turbine to operate
the ram is exactly equivalent to a turbine which exploits a waterfall to supply a pump: the advantage of the ram is to be simpler to do the same thing
