Heating a gas or liquid with little energy

by ggdorm » 23/02/09, 18:43

Hello everyone, following the discovery of this excellent forum and the enormous skills therein, I would like to ask your opinion on a process. Is it possible, with little energy, to raise the t ° of a gas or fluid around 400 ° c?
Thank you for your answers! good night :D

Hello,

the amount of energy it takes to raise the temperature of a certain amount of liquid is fixed by physics. for example for water, it takes 4,18 joule to raise by 1 °, 1 gram of water.
it's called the mass heat of water.
each liquid or gas will have different properties but the amount of energy required is fixed.

so when you say: with little energy ??? I don't really see what you're looking for.
tell us a little more.

In fact we plan to participate in the eco shell marathon next year with an improvement of the stirling engine ... so we must spend the least energy to do the most km!
