Vaporix: the motor steam still exists ... (modeling)

Tips, advice and tips to lower your consumption, processes or inventions as unconventional engines: the Stirling engine, for example. Patents improving combustion: water injection plasma treatment, ionization of the fuel or oxidizer.

Vaporix: the motor steam still exists ... (modeling)

by Christophe » 22/03/11, 14:48

... for enthusiasts and amateurs of "realistic model making"! Discovered this Sunday during a small flea market at model making: http://www.vaporix.be/

This site is entirely dedicated to my passion for live steam modeling, mainly trains, but also some old toys and recently, after a return to naval modeling, the realization of a real life-size steam boat! You will find for each of my achievements, a detailed description as well as the means used to bring the project to a successful conclusion. Unless otherwise stated, almost all of the material presented on this site is FULLY HANDMADE using photos or sketches.

Some achievements:

This is almost scale 1: http://www.vaporix.be/dunkirk_en_7__1_4_075.htm (look at the interchange)

Beautiful workshop: http://www.vaporix.be/mon_atelier_024.htm

An American manufacturer of mini steam engines: http://grahamind.com/store/page1.html

Great art that may give some ideas to some econologists?

Magnificent, I would like to know more about its marvelous little Ardennes stove !!

we should focus our passion on making a micro mole drill for thermal storage underground (steam?) and remove all CO2 and nuclear heating !!

Also direct it towards the solar steam engine giving electricity and recycling its steam.

Chiche? There may be things to do together ...

The guy lives 10 km from my house and seems very nice ... could not discuss in detail with him during the flea market because of the timing ...

He has set up a beautiful complete workshop in the old style which allows great achievements of parts and he will enlarge it.
The chick is worth it !!

If he is passionate about making very useful, he can do more than reduced models, original tests, like a solar steam engine or even modify a perforator to make an automatic micro-mole to drill underground the passage of pipes. storage of summer solar heat to heat winter.

The difficulty of this autonomous micro-mole is the evacuation of the cuttings obtained (which is done by liquid in the boreholes, or by Archimedes' screw in the augers), without it getting stuck with too large pebbles.
Real moles use their legs and snout to dig and push the earth towards surface drains, and they prefer loose soil, like loose soil from new plantations, which is annoying in a garden !!

So we can make a micro mole that pierces behind another that pushes or transports the cuttings to the surface, with automatic return with wires or cables to guide.
There are many possible variations.
Automation would only come after a first simple version controlled manually with camera, to fully understand the difficulties of real mechanical manipulation, to simplify them as much as possible.
The motors can be electric or compressed air (which has the advantage of resisting the humidity and water often used to evacuate the cuttings).
It is above all a question of imagination and of choosing the simplest among the very large number of possible variants used for drilling.
The underground storage exchanger does not need to pass very large pipes 50mm or less, plastic water pipes.
This type of mole once automated would pass the pipes for cheap, because the price is that of the hour of work.

Finally, given your very remarkable solar installation with already 70m3 of storage water, not sufficient, it would be possible to add such storage underground using the development of the micro-mole to drill and pass 25 pipes on 15 to 20 m long to heat 1000m3 of deep earth in addition to your 70m3, with the excess summer heat.

In addition, the ecological and industrial potential of such storage is enormous, once developed, capable of being reproduced in millions of copies, for perpetual solar heating at zero cost of use and without the slightest CO2 and pollution! !

It was the goal of your house that you bought, and it is possible to perfect it to get there.

It is not a small scale model project, but a simple workshop for enthusiasts, allows to carry out a lot of tests
imaginative, on a project that remains human, of great utility, unlike the current nuclear and petroleum energies which pollute and have an inhuman, destructive scale.

He at least makes pretty machines that really work:

and not dreams that have never worked for 740 years !!
and I would have liked to know more about his Ardennais stove !!!
