Scams to the environment or energies: escrology?

by Gregconstruct » 20/12/07, 11:16

A new subject to denounce ecological scams and other false friends!

For an effective ecology, we must not forget to have a minimum of critical sense! Everything that is ecological in use is sometimes catastrophic in production.
And not everything that seems ecological to use is necessarily!

So, to say stop to escrology denounce it !!!! :frown:

A political example of escrology:

Pinocchio du Port: the UMP candidate in the next municipal elections ...

Patrick Bodzen, UMP candidate in the upcoming municipal elections at the Port, intends to make the fight against pollution one of his battlehors by proposing "the construction of a nuclear power station" in Reunion!
The idea actually seems so ridiculous that we could just turn the page!
But since the UMP candidate takes up the words of the President of the Republic by saying that "the future is nuclear": The Greens denounce the harmful effects of an idea as preposterous as it is ubiquitous, especially applied without any thought to Reunion!
In order to avoid any confusion, they would like to point out with ease that:
- For an equal financial investment, renewable energies will create 15 times more jobs, and jobs that could be occupied by Reunionese (while nuclear engineers and technicians will have to come from Metropolitan France).
- Nuclear power is not the guarantee of any kind of energy independence: what "energy independence" would it be since uranium would be imported? What's more, planetary reserves are dwindling ...
- The candidate does not provide any answer on the question of nuclear waste: should it be thrown into the Piton de la Fournaise? !
While it would take at least 10 years for a power plant to come out of the ground, the Greens of Reunion confirm that the medium and long term strategy is a policy in favor of alternative and renewable energies such as research relating to geothermal energy.
On the eve of the municipal elections, all the candidates are attempting the “greener than me, you die”: let’s unmask these false ecologists!

I can't believe that people these days are still able to say that nuclear power is ecological !!! :|

Well from a purely CO2 point of view, it is ... but I believe that is its only positive point ...

On the other hand, a lot of anti-nuclear "ecologists" simply do not take this nuclear advantage into account ...

There is indeed a network of environmentalists for the nuclear industry, including John LOVELOCK (the Gaia hypothesis).

Yes it is correct (there are others also ... like Jancovici but I do not know if it can be classified in "ecolos") that's why I wrote "a lot" (bcp) ...

When we see Greenpeace's relentlessness against French nuclear power sometimes we ask ourselves questions ...

OK for CO2 but what about waste ???
.
In addition, a nuclear power plant once it reaches the end of its life cannot be undone as a simple factory!
There will remain a beautiful concrete sarcophagus for a few centuries!

But, let's be honest, nuclear is a good way of transitioning to energy production without emitting greenhouse gases.
However, let's not build new nuclear power plants!

Ultimately, clean nuclear cannot be excluded.

Admitting that our scientists are following the right lines of research, which is less certain.

With power stations with magnetic necking, this should be possible. See link below.
