Collect a thread in pdf format

by renaud67 » 06/07/07, 10:34

Hello Christophe:

Is it possible to retrieve a thread in pdf format with the images of the dynamic links in the pdf?

it is very interesting especially for technical thread (ball burner, panton) ... it would not be possible to set it up.

The system used by the site you are quoting is completely different. I don't think it is possible to put it on our forums...

On the other hand you can always do the classic "save the page as" ... but hey it's more dirty than a pdf ...

This is what I am currently doing, except that I directly save the html ... the disadvantage of course is that you have to hit all the pages of the thread.
I'm going to do a little google phpbb + pdf ...

Same ... apparently it's rare ...

But is it really worth the effort?

Un forum is a place of exchange, converting it to .pdf means limiting exchanges even more (I read but I don't write)! Already that the participation rate is very low I do not see too much interest finally because a forum without participation it is a forum... dead ...

it is not at all in this philosophy ...
1 -> Backup,
2 -> easier consultation (apart from a connection to the net)
3 -> diffusion

Disadvantage:
we are not necessarily up to date with the latest developments

This in no way prevents intervention

I see especially the utility for forums technical

Diffusion = loss of visitor for forum so participation ...

A wiki is in preparation, it will undoubtedly do the trick to "summarize" the forums techniques...
