I went there Sunday 12 September.
First, it was nice, it was nice, the people were relaxed, said hello and smiled at each other. Just that, it was worth the trip.
Then, some disappointments: No "Roll my flower", No Pantone reactor as it was announced. The person who was coming was ill, I was told.
Already I had come for that mainly, disappointed.
But what I did not like at all, is the frankly commercial side.
Entry: 4 euro / person. Well, I do not mind but once inside, there was a lot more commercial booth than "how to do this or that" booth. For example there was a superb solar water heater in 960 euro, but no solar water heater in system D, or panel "how to make a solar water heater". So, I regret having paid 4 euro the entrance of a trade show.
The organic meal at 12 euro. Yeah, it was good, but a bit limited in quantity. Entrance ou dessert, a glass of wine (very good).
Patrick Barronet (the autonomous house) started his conference with the idea that "the polution is first mental" and that it is necessary to start by "cleaning in his head". I think even within the eco center of Perigord everyone has not finished the job at this level.
What is the purpose of an eco festival? Make it possible for as many people as possible to reconsider their over-consumption habits and to make them aware of "ecology", or is it simply to make an "eco-friendly" trade fair. Especially considering the prices practiced by the different exhibitors, it supports the idea that to be ecolo, you have to be rich. If for a solar water heater you have to pay 960 euro, a lot of people will stay at the good old electric water heater not even 150. How is it that on an eco center, there is not even a home-made water heater with recup or materials not honorable?
Really, that's not how I see it at all. <_
