Just for information, I had fun to apply a TIPP unique to all fuels (taking that of the SP95 2005 year), it gives in € TTC per liter:
It would drastically change the rules of the game and gasoline would no longer be shown as "a luxury item"
I used the figures from the Department of Industry for the 2005 year.
Pay a tax on a tax, it is still strong
If we did not pay a tax on the tax (VAT on the TIPP), the prices would be:
instead of that today:
We are well swollen.
Finally, the prices excluding fuel (without VAT or TIPP):
And the TIPP in 2005:
The calculation: Price TTC = 1,196 x (Price HT + TIPP)
Note in passing this bill (25 October 2005) to remove the VAT paid on the TIPP:
http://www.senat.fr/leg/ppl05-043.html
With this law, the calculation would become: Price TTC = 1,196 x Price HT + TIPP
Evolution of the prices HT (without VAT nor TIPP) of the fuels since 1997:
the prices inclusive of taxes from 1997:
And the increase since 1997:
LPG has increased only "twice as much" compared to other fuels which have more than tripled since 1999.
