A little common sense (cooking and heating with wood)

by the middle » 10/09/09, 11:11

Bonjour,
Today, it is ugly, no sun ... and it is not cold in the house (21 ° c); yet I am frozen (old wet house)
I have to cook meals, and I would like to turn on the heating.
The solution is simple, I make a spaguetty on my little wood stove. And I don't use my electrical takes.
You can see the amount of wood used on the photos (cardboard at the bottom of the pan) (a bucket for a meal : Cheesy: )
It's pallet wood for reuse ... a working day for months of cooking! it's free !
Harrr !, it's work, harr, it's messy ...
Yep, TV is better, it's clean, the dish is easier ...
Thank you my Canadian Rabbit who connected me to the thing :D

Hey, is your hookah recycled from your stove? : Mrgreen: : Mrgreen:

We (finally Christine ...) also cooked on the wood stove as soon as we can (especially soups or other stuff in water that need to cook for a long time) because there is no drain for fat (stove in the living room) ...

ps: uh Rabbit is Walloon like us : Cheesy: or else I confuse with another?

Ps, to cut my pallets, there was my wife, and the grandmother, everyone participated.!
There, it was pure happiness ....
Oil central heating is anti-social.
Chopping wood as a family is making the game boy useless, it's learning to live together, it's a lot of positive things.
And it's economical, no need to go to fitness, and reduced electric bills : Cheesy:

I confirm, when I have to cook a meal that lasts long enough, I put my stove (for cooking) on the go
In the photo, you will notice that the pan does not touch the pan directly, there is a "thing" that prevents overheating.
Cooking gently helps preserve the quality of food.

Enjoy your meal ! Lacks more than the smell Image

It only remains to recover the heat from the smoke pipes to make the house less humid ;-)

By cons, not sure of the harsh chemicals used in pallet wood :-(

Bernard ........
I think you have some diplomas ..
But you just said 2 nonsense:
It only remains to recover the heat from the smoke pipes to make the house less humid ;-)
; I currently have 35% humidity in the house; because of the wood heating method (despite damp walls)
By cons, not sure of the harsh chemicals used in pallet wood:

These are pallets not chemically treated, but heat treated.
But your answers are relevant to others Image
(I know the origin of my pallets : Cheesy: )

How do you deduct it? But I also fear that it is a stupidity ;-)

In fact, I was referring to
yet I am frozen (old wet house)
, and the fact that the only "inefficiency" of this good old stove is the heat that comes out in the smoke ...

When wet walls, I think it's an advantage, because if you heat them with solar, it is a hot mass of very effective storage ...

By cons, not sure of the harsh chemicals used in pallet wood:

That's why I put "not sure": so not a mistake ;-)
