Hi Did,

Out of curiosity, how many copies of your excellent book have you sold?

Thank you ;)

No simple answer: when a book is printed, it "leaves" the stock at the publisher [very exactly, the subsidiary responsible for distributing it - in my case, it's Interforum], but is not sold. He's at the bookseller's, on the shelves or not ...

The numbers I have:

a) printing: 5 000 at the beginning, then very quickly after the exit, 3 000 in addition [the second re-printing is imminent, which means that the 8 000 copies have all gone to the distributor]

b) "restocking" = booksellers who order again, are good: 50 to 80 day [but it was two or three weeks ago, then we were in an Amazon ranking from 500 to 1000 in general]

c) at the time, the "cash out" = the real sales, are from 250 to 280 per week according to my publishing house

d) personally, I am selling my fifth hundred, at the end of the conferences or by expedition of autographed works ...

All this now seems to be accelerating (just now, at 19 h, it was even classified 36ème!).

Thank you for these clarifications, Didier.

I did not think there were so many ... and it's not over. Well done.

I have only one complaint to make to this book: Mine is not autographed (Amazon) : Cry:

The effect of the articles fades ... It is "only" 200th ...

Beaten flatly, in the "gardening" sections, by a book recently released, and written by a columnist who has his notoriety; it is presented as follows:

Hello

this morning watching this little quick video

https://potagerdurable.com/video-ce-qui ... &utm_term=

I remembered that from the time I was still composting (ie last year) : Oops: I rarely had worms in the composter, or if there were, they were very few ...

Why ? maybe I was not composting "according to the rules of the art" ??? (however, I can affirm that the compost obtained, even if it took time, was of good quality)

it is true that it never heated in my heap either, it was rather cold (or lukewarm) ... it was relatively airy too, because I often brewed and I mixed with waste (brown) rather coarse .. and probably because my heap tended to be quite dry, I did not water much, not enough.

So what's the best way to compost? should it be rather compact, very humid, predominantly "green waste"? having lots of little worms, is that the key to "good" compost? does the process necessarily have to be very fast?

oupsss! I'm stuffed with a subject, here is the book ... : Oops:

A compost heats because of bacteria, not surface worms ... But, indeed, this is hardly the place to debate.

Finally read! Excellent book of popularization on soil biology but what a pity, no bibliographical reference at the end of the book ...

1) Strictly speaking, I do not consider the book to be a "scientific work", so I have not referenced the bibliography. It's more of a "test" ...

2) Many things are trivial, without precise references. I nevertheless quoted Marcel Bouché. This is the most obvious "loan". I should have quoted the book on mycorrhizae [http://www.quae.com/fr/r4798-les-mycorhizes.html], but the borrowings I make are on the net, in the author's blog ...

3) The book is wrong. It sounds "scientific", but it's a nice sum of scientific banalities. It is the way of assembling them which is original.

4) I admit that I was unable to reconstruct the "bibliography" of all the works that inspired me during this phase, but there are on my desk, a lot of books that I opened and ... NEVER READ!

The real trigger is Manfred Wenz, whom I met, but did not write a book. I pay him a small tribute in passing, because this man is largely unknown in France.

A lot of chapters - bacteria, fungi, are "bunch" of things gleaned from the net ... Again, I just made a serious sorting between the 95% bullshit and the 5% of things that obviously held up. ... I wrote down on little pieces of paper ...

5) I could have put a list of books that I find interesting, credible, etc ... I did not think about it.
